Biomimicry: Term coined by Janine Benyus. A method that mirrors nature’s time tested strategies to create sustainable solutions.

The inspiration for this project came from the designer’s dwindling relationship with nature. I gathered word associations and interviewed trend forecasters, a neuroscientist and an idol of mine, Richard Seymour.

The outcome was Moniker, a trend magazine that aimed to educate designers through images and stimulating dialogue to utilise nature’s models. The aim was to inspire others and stop the potential loop of trend repetition of the worldwide city culture hubs.

Each page reflects nature’s lessons - conquering problems, sustainable ideals, other uses of patterns, mimicry, being bold and also an article from me about a new outside office.
